Mitt: “The Obama campaign has become the incredible shrinking campaign”

Who would’ve thought it?

(Politico) Mitt Romney accused President Barack Obama of pettiness and desperation at a night-time rally that drew thousands to Daytona Beach Friday.

The Republican presidential nominee said that Obama’s “has become the incredible shrinking campaign” at the end of a day that saw his Democratic opponent embrace the term “Romnesia” and recent attacks over Romney’s off-the-cuff debate remarks on “Big Bird” and “binders full of women.”

“Well, have you been watching the Obama campaign lately?” Romney asked as crowd booed. “They have no agenda for the future, no agenda for America, no agenda for a second term. It’s a good thing they won’t have a second term.

“They’ve been reduced to petty attacks and silly word games,” he added. “The Obama campaign has become the incredible shrinking campaign.”

“They keep talking about smaller and smaller things,” he said. “We have big ideas, bold ideas, a strong agenda.”

This is what it’s come to: a president who’s running on Big Bird, Binders, and now “Romnesia” (which was quickly hijacked)

What else does Obama have to talk about? Stopping the flow of guns into Mexico? Heck, they’re responsible for running guns into Mexico. Ignoring the Arab Spring? Consistent high unemployment? Record numbers of people dropping out of the jobs market in despair? Record numbers of people on food stamps? Wasting nearly a trillion dollars on a failed stimulus?

Passing a health bill that is still just as unpopular as when it was passed? How about the incredible shrinking manufacturing sector?

But, it isn’t entirely fair to say Obama has no agenda. It’s just that the agenda for a second term is a retread of the first, including all the lies and failure

Fourth, Obama would “cut the deficit by $4 trillion over the next 10 years.” He has already “cut spending that we didn’t need,” he said, and will do more in the future, but vowed not to cut any funds in areas like education and research.

We’ve heard this promise before, that he would “cut the deficit in half.” Yet, instead of doing that, it ballooned by over $5,000,000,000,000 in under four years.

Fifth, Obama would raise taxes on higher-income Americans. “We can’t get this done unless we also ask the wealthiest households to pay higher taxes on their incomes above $250,000,” Obama said. “That’s how you do it.”

He never actually explains how that would help middle class Americans. Somehow, in Obama World, taking more money from job creators and success stories would help out because government has more money to waste. Obama is out of ideas, hence the reliance on small ball.

Oh, and to add to the shrinking campaign, Team Obama is now running an ad saying that Romney is “not one of us“. Imagine the furor had Romney run that one!
