Clinton: Hey, The Benghazi Attack Could Have Been Al Qaeda

A spoonful here, a spoonful there…..it’d be nice if the Credentialed Media were doing their jobs and asking the hard questions from day 1 instead of waiting for the (supposedly) most transparent administration ever to dole out drips and drabs

(NY Times) Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday suggested there was a link between the Qaeda franchise in North Africa and the attack at the American diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, that killed the American ambassador and three others. She was the highest-ranking Obama administration official to publicly make the connection, and her comments intensified what is becoming a fiercely partisan fight over whether the attack could have been prevented.

Mrs. Clinton did not offer any new evidence of a Qaeda link, and officials later said the question would be officially settled only after the F.B.I. completed a criminal inquiry, which could take months. But they said they had not ruled out the involvement of Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb – an affiliate of the international terrorist group with origins in Algeria – in an attack the administration initially described as a spontaneous protest turned violent.

How’s that investigation going?

(CNN) More than two weeks after four Americans — including the U.S. ambassador to Libya — were killed in an attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, FBI agents have not yet been granted access to investigate in the eastern Libyan city, and the crime scene has not been secured, sources said.

“They’ve gotten as far as Tripoli now, but they’ve never gotten to Benghazi,” CNN National Security Analyst Fran Townsend said Wednesday, citing senior law enforcement officials.

“They had difficulty, and we understand there was some bureaucratic infighting between the FBI and Justice Department on the one hand, and the State Department on the other, and so it took them longer than they would have liked to get into country. They’ve now gotten there. But they still are unable to get permission to go to Benghazi.”

FBI agents have made a request through the U.S. State Department for the crime scene to be secured, Townsend said, but that has not happened.

Great. Our consulate was attacked and burned, our ambassador and 3 others were killed, many were injured, and these fools are playing power games.

Oh, and speaking of al Qaeda, a bit of a bombshell was launched yesterday

(Daily Beast) Within 24 hours of the 9-11 anniversary attack on the United States consulate in Benghazi, U.S. intelligence agencies had strong indications al Qaeda—affiliated operatives were behind the attack, and had even pinpointed the location of one of those attackers. Three separate U.S. intelligence officials who spoke to The Daily Beast said the early information was enough to show that the attack was planned and the work of al Qaeda affiliates operating in Eastern Libya.

So Team Obama knew, yet were still yammering on about it being a spontaneous protest gone bad a week later, and still whining about the attack being caused by a stupid video no one had seen.
