Obama Weekly Address: Virtually Out Of Ideas
  28 Jun 2014     6:49 am

Barack Obama has a little over a year and a half left in his disastrous and failed presidency, and he is getting more and more whiny , above and beyond his normal whining. And his typical blamestorming and castigation. Here he goes again during the Weekly Address (video here)
Hi, everybody. This week, I spent a couple days in Minneapolis, talking with people about their lives – their concerns, their successes, and their hopes for the future.
Yeah, and hitting up some fundraisers with 1%ers. And by “days”, he means getting …

Lois Lerner Was Super Concerned Over Lost Private Documents
  27 Jun 2014     9:02 am

Her official emails? Not so much
(Fox News) Computer experts and Republican lawmakers are poking holes in IRS claims that the agency did all it could to retrieve embattled ex-official Lois Lerner’s allegedly “lost” emails, which the agency blames on a 2011 hard-drive crash. (snip)
But Lerner’s communications with the agency’s IT team referred to her desire to retrieve “lost personal files” — not lost emails.
And that detail is “very suspicious,” according to David Kennedy, chief executive of information security firm TrustedSec. Kennedy said that when government computers crash, email recovery should …

Good News: Obama Kicks Of Summer Road Show
  27 Jun 2014     8:40 am

Because he cares about average Americans and is totally in touch with what you care about, or something
(Politico) President Barack Obama headed out of Washington on Thursday to offer assurance to Americans that he hasn’t lost touch with the issues that guide their daily lives — or their complaints about the political system.
“Are there programs that the government does that are a waste of money, or aren’t working as well as they should be? Of course,” Obama said at a town hall in Minneapolis, on the first of several day-in-the-life …

Surprise: EPA Also “Lost” Emails
  26 Jun 2014     6:57 am

I mentioned a Mark Stein article in the previous post. Something else he wrote
It’s worse when the supposedly impartial civil service uses those powers in the service of the ruling party: The merger of party and state is the very definition of “banana republic”. And it’s worst of all when they get away with it – because it means they’ll do it again.
That was in terms of the IRS knowing they can get away with it, and do it again. Apparently, the EPA feels they can get away with it, …

Did Lois Lerner Seek IRS Audit Of Sen. Chuck Grassley?
  26 Jun 2014     6:37 am

Fox News runs with they headline that she did, and Rep. David Camp thinks she did, but, Grassley thinks she was targeting a Tea Party group. Some news orgs follow along with the Grassley targeted meme, others go with group targeted
Congressional investigators have uncovered emails showing ex-IRS official Lois Lerner targeted a sitting Republican senator for a proposed internal audit, a discovery one GOP lawmaker called “shocking.”
The emails were published late Wednesday by the House Ways and Means Committee and pertain to the woman at the heart of the scandal …

Biden: Gay Rights Trump Pretty Much Everything
  25 Jun 2014     7:02 am

Someone let Joe Biden off his chains again
(Yahoo News) Vice President Joe Biden declared Tuesday that protecting gay rights is a defining mark of a civilized nation and must trump national cultures and social traditions as the Obama administration sought to mobilize a global front against anti-gay violence and discrimination.
Biden told a gathering of U.S. and international gay rights advocates that President Barack Obama has directed that U.S. diplomacy and foreign assistance promote the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender men and women around the world.
“I don’t care what …

Golly Gee, IRS Failed To Follow Law On Archiving Email
  25 Jun 2014     6:43 am

Who would have thought it?
(NY Times) The Internal Revenue Service did not follow the law when it failed to report a hard drive crash that destroyed emails belonging to a senior official at the center of a scandal over the agency’s treatment of conservative-leaning political groups, the nation’s top archivist said Tuesday.
“In accordance with the Federal Records Act, when an agency becomes aware of an incident of unauthorized destruction, they must report the incident to us,” said David S. Ferriero, the chief archivist at the National Archives.
Mr. Ferriero made his …

New Report Breathlessly Prognosticates Economic Doom From Global Warming
  24 Jun 2014     7:25 am

Here’s Justin Gillis, one of the journalistic world’s biggest Warmists and climahysterics
Bipartisan Report Tallies High Toll on Economy From Global Warming
More than a million homes and businesses along the nation’s coasts could flood repeatedly before ultimately being destroyed. Entire states in the Southeast and the Corn Belt may lose much of their agriculture as farming shifts northward in a warming world. Heat and humidity will probably grow so intense that spending time outside will become physically dangerous, throwing industries like construction and tourism into turmoil.
That is the picture of what …

Great Optics: Democrats Protecting IRS
  24 Jun 2014     7:08 am

It’s not the first time House Democrats have been caught protecting the IRS and high ranking employees as the IRS targeting scandal rolls on, and it surely won’t be the last (video is available at each link)
(Mediaite) Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier followed up a Republican grilling IRS Commissioner John Koskinen by scolding fellow Republicans for “badgering” him. Speier spoke up after Jim Jordan got rather confrontational with Koskinen about how long he knew about the missing IRS emails before they informed Congress. Jordan was practically fuming at Koskinen for how …

Democrats Using “Climate Change” As Wedge Issue Or Something
  23 Jun 2014     8:20 am

I hope they do use it for the 2014 elections: pushing “climate change” rules and laws hasn’t worked out so well for politicians around the world as of late (see what happened to Australia’s Labor Party). Furthermore, it would make an interesting contrast as the Democrat politicians run all around in fossil fueled vehicles campaigning
(SF Gate) When President Obama stood before students in Southern California a week ago ridiculing those who deny climate science, he wasn’t just road testing a new political strategy to a friendly audience. He was trying …

Joe Biden Threatens To Kill Reporters If They Write Negative Article About Him
  23 Jun 2014     7:57 am

Sheriff Joe is off the reservation
(UK Daily Mail) Vice President Joe Biden threatened reporters Saturday with a water gun.
Biden pulled the water pistol on members of the press during the annual media picnic at his official residence at the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C.
‘Anybody who writes a bad story about me is dead,’ he said while holding the gun. ‘I just want you to know that, get this straight, we’re not gonna kid around about this.’
Just look at this gun wielding maniac!

Horrific! Perpetuating a society of gun violence! Where’s …

“Who respects a church that only echoes the secular world?”
  22 Jun 2014     8:55 am

Good question
(The Blaze) The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s official embrace of same-sex marriage at its General Assembly meeting in Detroit, Michigan, Thursday has sparked a wide array of responses. From utter shock and dismay to jubilant rejoicing, observers are divided on the denomination’s decision to bless gay unions.
Consider the response from Mark Tooley, president of the Institute on Religion and Democracy, a conservative Think Tank. Tooley believes the matrimonial amendment, while being touted by some as a progressive step in the right direction, will eventually lead to the denomination’s demise.
“By overturning …

Jon Stewart Knows The Best Way To Turn Skeptics Into Climate Change Alarmists
  21 Jun 2014     8:03 am

Does it involve providing actual scientific evidence rather than hysterical talking points and failed computer models? Of course not
(The Wire) On Wednesday, four former Republican Environmental Protection Agency administrators testified before Congress in an attempt to convince current Congressional Republicans on the threat of climate change. On last night’s episode of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart explained why that won’t work.
“People are always complaining that the Republican party ignores so-called climate change science, but there’s a reason why they refuse to listen to alarmists,” Stewart said. “Republicans aren’t going to …

Obama Pivots To Economy. Sort Of. More Like Campaigning
  21 Jun 2014     7:36 am

There are lots of important things, well, really, Important Things, going on in the country and world right now. The VA scandal. Illegals streaming across the border like we’ve never seen. Iraq in meltdown. Benghazi. The IRS scandal. Heck, Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi being held in a Mexican jail (an issue which Obama failed to discuss with Mexican President Peña Nieto during their phone call). The overall generally crummy condition of the economy. Here’s what PBO goes for (video here)

Liberals Proclaim Obamacare Rate Shock No Big Deal, Since Other People Pay For It
  20 Jun 2014     8:10 am

Well, of course they do. They’re all about Someone Else bearing the burden for the insane policies of Liberals
(Avik Roy, Forbes) Over the past twelve months, there has been an energetic debate among health policy researchers about the extent to which Obamacare will increase the underlying cost of individually-purchased health insurance: what observers have come to call “rate shock.” Yesterday, the Manhattan Institute published the most comprehensive study yet on the topic, analyzing premium data from 3,137 U.S. counties, and finding an average rate hike of 49 percent. In response, …

Happy Friday! Care to read something unbelievably insane?
(Reuters) Immigration rights groups in a lawsuit filed on Wednesday accused Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio of overstepping his bounds as a local official by using anti-identity theft laws to target undocumented immigrants in workplace raids.
Puente Arizona, an immigrant rights groups, filed the lawsuit in federal court, along with two women who were arrested by Arpaio’s deputies last year and a local minister who contends the sheriff is squandering his tax dollars by conducting the operations.

Taxpayer Funded High School Supposedly Blocks Certain Websites Because “Hate”

Let’s note right off the bat that this is an accusation by a student. That said, would this really surprise you?
(Daily Caller) Controversy is flaring up at a Connecticut high school after a student alleged that its internet filter is biased against conservative websites.
Andrew Lampart, a senior at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury, told a local Fox station that he was conducting research for an in-class debate on gun control when he discovered that many pro-gun sites, such as National Rifle Association’s homepage, were blocked by the school’s filter. Meanwhile, …

That “phony scandal” and “wacky conspiracy theory”, an issue that happened because of some “rogue agents” and set of coincidences, sure seems to be getting more legit every day. Here’s the latest
(Politico) Ex-IRS official Lois Lerner’s crashed hard drive has been recycled, making it likely the lost emails of the lightening rod in the tea party targeting controversy will never be found, according to multiple sources.
“We’ve been informed that the hard drive has been thrown away,” Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, the top Republican on the Finance Committee, said in …

Bummer: Elected Office Seniority Not The Boon It Once Was
  17 Jun 2014     8:43 am

(The Hill) Seniority was once valued in politics, but this year, incumbents are having trouble convincing voters that politicians get better with age.
It’s an issue that was front and center last week in 76-year-old Sen. Thad Cochran’s (R-Miss.) primary runoff battle with state Sen. Chris McDaniel, and was a driving force in 91-year-old Rep. Ralph Hall’s (R-Texas) loss last month.
For both Hall and Cochran, it’s not just that their decades of service are seen as a detriment — questions about the effects of their age are popping up, too.
Much of …

Illegals Now Being Dropped Off Via Jet Skis
  17 Jun 2014     8:04 am

Mr. Obama can talked about there being more deportations than ever, but that notion has now gone out the window. Most of those deportations were illegals caught crossing and almost immediately sent home. Due to Obama admin policies and discourse, illegals, especially young ones, are streaming across the border, some with parents, some without. They know exactly what to say
“We’re fleeing gang violence,” the mother told the Border Patrol agent, who detailed the conversation to TheBlaze on the condition that he not be named. The group did not run, but …
