Is This The Best We Can Do?
  28 Apr 2014     12:16 am

It seems that Republicans’ plans to stick to the issue of Obamacare right up to the midterm elections are falling through, as Congressional leadership – including and especially Speaker John Boehner – have renewed their push for “comprehensive” immigration reform.  This is a losing issue for Republicans, so it begs the question of why the top politicians in the party would be stupid enough to keep hammering the issue time and time and time again.

The goal, so they say, is to find a bipartisan compromise to solve our nation’s problem …

Why RINOs Will Always Lose
  14 Nov 2013     12:01 am

With Chris Christie’s re-election win in New Jersey, the rumor mill is buzzing with speculation over whether America’s favorite overweight governor will run for president in 2016. With the rumors this strong, I would say that the possibility is pretty good that Ann Coulter’s former favorite will give it a shot…but there is just one problem – and it’s a doozie:
If Christie wins the Republican nomination in 2016, he will lose the general election.

You would think, at this point, that the Republican Party would have learned their lessons from 2008 …

Big Government Terrorism
  3 Oct 2013     12:01 pm

The government has been shut down for a few days now, and for most Americans, life continues on.  I mean, sure, all of the politicians inside the Beltway are freaking out over the shutdown, but most of the people sent home work inside the Beltway, so they’re seeing the effects – for the most part, the rest of us aren’t.  We aren’t seeing it, we aren’t feeling it.  Life continues on, because most Americans aren’t dependent on the federal government for their continued existence.

But right now, big-government Democrats have a …

Experience Counts
  10 Sep 2013     12:01 am

Finally, the global community knows that the leader of the World’s Largest Superpower is a statesman who can take control on the international stage and get things done while other, lesser leaders are left floundering around trying to either turn their gaffes into global policy, or trying to keep their gaffes from becoming global policy.  The leader I’m referring to, of course, is Vladimir Putin.

When Barack Obama went out on the campaign trail and drew his “red line” for Syria, it was widely acknowledged as a mistake – no world …

The Phony President
  30 Jul 2013     12:01 am

All of a sudden, President Obama is once again on a big push to change his administration’s priorities back to the economy. Of course, it has long been known that economic issues are at the forefront of the American People’s concerns, but they never seem to be a convenient topic for the president until things just aren’t going his way.
This marks the 19th time (literally) that President Obama has “pivoted” his administration’s priority back to America’s failing economy. That fact alone – that he has had to pivot nearly 20 …

How The Zimmerman Case Doesn’t Add Up
  18 Jul 2013     12:01 am

Protests, riots, and violence are now the legacy of Trayvon Martin and the attention his family got for his case following his death around a year ago.
I have a problem with this…and it has nothing to do with race, racism, or race relations in America.  Truth be told, all of the angst over this case just doesn’t add up.

1. Trayvon Martin was no child.
Trayvon Martin may have been a minor, but he was no child. He was bigger and stronger than George Zimmerman. He was 6’2″ and played football. George …

Arab Spring, Take Two
  5 Jul 2013     12:01 am

When the Arab Spring struck Egypt just a couple of years ago, it was hailed by many as a great day.  Democracy, they said, had finally arrived in Egypt, and it didn’t matter that they were replacing a US-friendly dictator with an anti-US radical Islamic regime.

But now it seems that Egypt has made no progress at all.  While the Obama administration has done everything it could to prop up the new Egyptian dictatorship, to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars, plus multiple donations of advanced military hardware…quite interesting …

Liberals Being Very Un-Liberal On The Voting Rights Act
  26 Jun 2013     12:01 am

The very un-liberal attitude American liberals are taking over the Supreme Court’s decision on the Voting Rights Act is downright perplexing. To hear some on the Left tell it, you would think that the United States Supreme Court just declared the Emancipation Proclamation to be unconstitutional, and re-instituted slavery in America.
But all of the blustering over the Voting Rights Act is massively overblown. In fact, most of the Act is still in effect. The Supreme Court didn’t even really strike down anything in the law; all they did is say …

Obamacare: Failing Before It’s Begun
  20 Jun 2013     12:01 am

It’s difficult to understand why anyone in America still thinks that allowing full implementation of Obamacare is a good idea.  We’ve seen how the monstrosity of a bill – at over 2,000 pages – has spawned over 20,000 pages of new regulations on the health care industry.  The very idea that any could survive for long under that kind of constant change is ridiculous.  In just over a month, the controversial contraceptive mandate will kick in, forcing insurers to cover contraceptives for women – just one of many parts of …

The End Of The GOP
  13 Jun 2013     12:02 am

It seems that the Grand Old Party is intent on committing suicide – no matter how hard conservative Americans or Tea Party Patriots try to turn the party around, the politicians in power just put on their blinders and press on, taking the party in a direction that will only turn people away.  In an arena where it seems that not a day goes by without a new announcement in the media of yet another scandal brought on by government overreach, the time should be ripe to push for smaller …

How Much BS Do They Expect Us To Buy?
  6 Jun 2013     12:01 am

It seems that every Democrat politician in America operates under the assumption that our nation is populated entirely by idiots who will believe anything we are told.  The only difference is, some Americans require the story to be repeated a few more times than others…but as a whole, Americans will buy into anything, true or false, as long as it is told to us enough times.

When the news came out about the Fast and Furious scandal, we were told, over and over again, that it was solely the work of …

Obama’s IRS Nightmares
  23 May 2013     12:01 am

With so many scandals going on, and so many Obama administration officials claiming so much ignorance, it really makes you wonder: just who is running things in the White House, anyway?
From all appearances, the answer is “no one.” It’s like watching Colonel Klink and Sergeant Schultz, as President Obama is constantly trying to cover his incompetence, and Press Secretary Jay Carney never seems to know what the heck is going on.
President Obama has supposedly taken decisive action, requiring the resignation of the temporary IRS chief, who was set to resign …

You Might Be A Democrat
  29 Apr 2013     12:01 am

You might be a Democrat if you believe…

Fighting against government-subsidized contraceptives constitutes a “war on women,” but when Islamists stone a woman to death because she was raped, it is just “cultural differences.”
The Second Amendment only guarantees the people’s right to own a musket, yet viewing Internet pornography in a public library is protected by the First.
Teaching multiple origin theories in public schools is an abhorrent dilution of science curriculum, but in history class, class time should focus on the contributions of homosexuals and ethnic minorities.
Teenagers should be able to …

Bring On The Anarchists
  25 Apr 2013     3:12 pm

Harry Reid has opened his big mouth yet again, and as you would imagine, the results are rather absurd.

So according to Reid, the Tea Party is just a bunch of anarchists who don’t have the guts to admit that we’re anarchists?
Reid’s comments are so wrong on so many levels…though I suspect that is exactly why he chose to say them.  Equating the Tea Party to anarchists is Harry Reid’s way of saying “these people are completely unreasonable and should not be listened to.”  It’s the basic equivalent of calling someone …

Tax, Spend, And Blame
  11 Apr 2013     12:01 am

President Obama has unveiled his budget proposal (only two months late, but who’s counting?), and he presented it with the same gravity and urgency that informed Americans have come to know and love from Dear Leader.  Each and every time the president makes the decision to engage in smear tactics to push his next bad policy through the legislature, he necessarily takes a dramatic stand in front of the media and points his finger at the Republican bogeyman.  It is the same politics of divisiveness, the same vilify-and-conquer strategy he …

Get The Government Out Of Marriage
  27 Mar 2013     12:01 am

The United States Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments in a suit over California’s Prop 8, which amended the state’s constitution to define marriage as being between one man and one woman.  The LGBT lobby has been fighting Prop 8 tooth and nail since even before the bill was up for a vote, and the latest court ruling, which came from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, overturned the amendment.  Despite anything written in the U.S. Constitution, there really is no telling how the Supreme Court will come down in …

The GOP Needs To Man Up
  19 Mar 2013     12:01 am

The Republican Party just released what is supposed to be their big comeback strategy: The Growth & Opportunity Project.  This is the vision for the Republican Party – after getting spanked in November’s presidential election by an unpopular, divisive partisan hack who faced some huge setbacks right before the election, you would think that the GOP has some major retooling to do.
GOP Chairman Reince Priebus has referred to the Growth & Opportunity Project as “an autopsy,” and I for one think Priebus is right on in his description.  The report …

The Blind Leading The Blind
  12 Mar 2013     12:01 am

It is hard enough to trust politicians as it is, but when it comes to trusting anyone on the Left on the issue of gun control, it seems to become harder and harder every day.  The idea that we should sit by and listen as national or state policy is dictated to us by people who do not understand firearms, and who assume that everyone else in America shares their lack of understanding, is appalling.

Senator Diane Feinstein and Vice President Joe Biden have emerged as the government’s leading gun control …

Let’s Keep It Real
  6 Mar 2013     12:01 am

New projections by the Congressional Budget Office show that this could be a record year for federal tax revenue – according to the CBO, the federal government should be bringing in $2.7 TRILLION this year, an all-time record.  At first blush, one would think this is good news, and a vindication of President Obama’s “balanced approach.”  But even though we’re looking at the possibility of record-high tax revenues, deficits are projected to be around $850 billion.
So the big question is, does America have a spending problem?  Will President Obama’s “balanced …

What We Don’t Need
  28 Feb 2013     12:02 am

One of the most frustrating thing about the current debate on gun control is the obfuscation and lies that are constantly passed around by the Left. The very idea that the Second Amendment might just be about self-defense, home-defense, hunting, and sport shooting is absolutely ludicrous, yet arguments based on this premise are treated as valid. We are constantly told, from a variety of sources, that law-abiding American citizens don’t “need” AR-15 rifles. We are told that we don’t “need” 30-round magazines. We are told that all we really “need” …
