The Shame Of Using The Sandy Hook Parents
  2 May 2013     12:21 pm

I know I am late to the game on commentary regarding the failed gun bill, but there is an aspect of it that hasn’t been covered, and it’s been bothering me.
As you probably know, Republican Senator Patrick Toomey of Pennsylvania wrote the bipartisan background check measure with Democratic Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia. I was actually for this bill. I think it was a good compromise, and I have no problem with every single person buying a gun, whether at gun shows or not, having a background check. But …

Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz. Let Freedom Ring In The GOP
  8 Mar 2013     12:39 pm

Via Jim Geraghty Morning Jolt, Philip Klein gives us a concise explanation of why Sen. Rand Paul’s filibuster was so effective:
A lot of the outpouring of conservative support for Paul’s filibuster on Obama’s drone policy went beyond the libertarian and anti-interventionist blocs of the movement who were also deeply troubled by Bush era counter-terrorism policies. Even those conservatives who may not agree with all of Paul’s views on presidential war powers were supportive if for no other reason than they relished seeing a conservative win a messaging war with Obama. It was impossible …

The Politics Of Rape
  25 Feb 2013     11:16 am

Last week you probably heard about Democratic Colorado state Rep. Joe Salazar controversial remarks during a debate on the House floor over a concealed-weapons ban on college campuses. He argued that women do not need guns. He said that women fearing rape may accidentally shoot that gun at others.  He said, “It’s why we have call boxes; it’s why we have safe zones; it’s why we have the whistles — because you just don’t know who you’re gonna be shooting at. And you don’t know if you feel like you’re …

Obama’s Drone War. If Obama Had A Son, Would He Look Like This?
  7 Feb 2013     9:43 am

Given the sudden interest in Obama’s drone wars, I wanted to remind you that some of us have long questioned Obama’s kill list and drone war. Many on the left are suddenly outraged by it. How convenient  AFTER the election. Here is a part of what I said a year ago in my post, “It’s Time To End The Pakistan Drone Strikes” :
“According to the article former CIA acting general counsel John A. Rizzo and other officials have “fought to keep most information about the Pakistan drone war out of the …

The Reality Of Modern Politics, We Go After Each Other
  26 Dec 2012     11:56 am

So, a White Plains newspaper, The Journal-News, published the names and addresses of every licensed pistol permit holder in three New York counties.
Just unbelievable. It just proves the sanctimonious self righteous attitude of liberals like the publisher and reporters that see the ends justifying the means of their agenda, even if it invades the privacy of citizens. She honestly thought that creating an interactive map with the names and addresses of gun owners, as if they are like sexual offenders, was a great idea.
Well, what goes around, comes around in the …

This Is Why Romney Wins
  31 Oct 2012     10:34 am

IF Romney wins, of course. The bottom line truth in voting is that there are those who will always vote Republican no matter what, and there are those who will vote Democrat no matter what. So the pathway to the Presidency, whether one likes it or not, is to get the votes of those 8-20 percent that vote either way.
Republicans have long been frustrated at Romney failing to attack the President on a variety of things. But Romney chose to keep it steady on the economy, with a few exceptions. …

Romney vs Obama Round Two
  17 Oct 2012     9:08 am

That was quite a lively debate, wasn’t it? Obama knew he had to be more energized, and he was. But Romney was pretty energized himself. The biggest flub of the night didn’t come from the candidates,  but from Candy Crowley. When Romney said that Obama didn’t call Libya a terrorist act the first day after the attack in the Rose Garden speech. Candy interrupted him and said that Obama had said that. In fact Obama did include in a reference to 9-11 where he said, “no act of terror will…” Right after …

15 Most Underrated People In New Media
  9 Oct 2012     12:42 pm

With the campaign getting a bit surreal, I thought I might highlight some people you should know. Today I got inspired when Marc Lamont Hill published a piece at the Huffington Post entitled “The 15 Most Overrated White People.” So, then local radio show host Michael Berry on NewsTalk 750am , decided to take calls to list the “15 Most Overrated Black People.”
It was all so pathetic, I thought I needed to go positive, so I decided to give you this. Many on this list may be pretty well known, …

Hands Down Mitt Romney Won The Presidential Debate Last Night
  4 Oct 2012     8:57 am

Last night was a very very good night for Mitt Romney. When you have Chris Matthews asking, “Where was Obama last night?” You know it was bad for Obama. Mitt was commanding and smart. Here is Chris Matthews having a bit of a meltdown.

Last night on twitter was fun for us conservatives, but imagine our surprise when Liberal comedian Bill Maher, who has donated $1 million to Pres Obama tweeted this:
“i can’t believe i’m saying this, but Obama looks like he DOES need a teleprompter.” Also this: “Obama made a lot …

Univision Reports More Disturbing Information About Fast and Furious
  2 Oct 2012     10:18 am

From The Daily Caller and ABC News:
The Spanish language television news network Univision unleashed a bombshell investigative report on Operation Fast and Furious Sunday evening, finding that in January 2010 drug cartel hit men slaughtered students with weapons the United States government allowed to flow to them across the Mexican border.

“On January 30, 2010, a commando of at least 20 hit men parked themselves outside a birthday party of high school and college students in Villas de Salvarcar, Ciudad Juarez,” according to a version of the Univision report in …

‘The Good War’ Has Gone Terribly Wrong
  1 Oct 2012     9:09 am

Really disturbing news out of Afghanistan that may be being overlooked with all the Presidential election news going on. The New York Times reported in August that the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Afghanistan has more than doubled since Pres. Obama took office.
From Michael Yon:
“Afghan forces are infested with Taliban suicide killers. Two more “green-on-blue” attacks have occurred in the last few days, killing six more troops.

Days ago, the Taliban executed an audacious attack on Camp Bastion in southern Afghanistan where Prince Harry is stationed. Under darkness without …

The White House Lied To Us, and The Media Was Complicit
  28 Sep 2012     12:44 pm

We now know that Ambassador Susan Rice went on all Sunday news shows a week ago and knowingly lied to America by saying the Libyan attack was a protest that went wrong, and NOT a planned terrorist attack. The White House also falsely insisted that it was because of a video on Youtube. Not for a day or two, but for TWO WEEKS.  The White House not only knew within 24 hours of the attacks that it was a planned terrorist attack, they also knew that Al Qaeda was most …

Are The Pro Israel, Anti Jihad Subway Ads Offensive?
  26 Sep 2012     9:25 am

Yesterday I see a news story about a woman being arrested for spray painting over a pro Israel, anti Jihad subway ad in New York City. Imagine my surprise when I realize it was someone I follow on twitter to get a Middle East perspective. Mona Eltahawy is An Egyptian-born U.S. columnist who speaks out against radical Islam. She writes about the oppression of women in the Muslim world.
But let’s back up. The ads, put up in 10 stations, read, “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, …

CNN Finally Does The Right Thing With The Story Of Ambassador Stevens and His Diary (Update!)
  24 Sep 2012     11:59 am

Here is the shocking story I hope you didn’t miss. CNN’s Anderson Cooper reported on Wednesday night that U.S. Ambassador Stevens, who was killed in the 9-11 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, had been worried about the security threats, the ever growing Islamic extremism, and al-Qaeda’s presence in Libya. Anderson reported that Stevens thought he might be on a hit list.  Finally on Friday, Anderson reported on one of his sources for this. It was Ambassador Stevens’ own journal.
A producer at CNN found the journal three days after the attack. CNN …

Shame On Attorney General Eric Holder For Racial Antagonism
  1 Jun 2012     4:34 pm

Stirring up racial resentment. Creating false narratives about race and politics. Dividing us racially for political purposes. No, I’m not talking about Al Sharpton. I am talking about our Attorney General, head of the the Justice Department, Eric Holder.
Mr. Holder said Wednesday in a speech to the Council of Black Churches. Voter ID laws and white discrimination, he added, mean that “some of the achievements that defined the civil rights movement now hang in the balance.”

That’s right. The two most powerful men in America are black, two of the …

Welcome Home To The GOP, Artur Davis
  31 May 2012     8:58 am

As many of you know, one of my “things” is bringing more minorities into the GOP. Believing in the free market system, Democracy, and freedom, and being against the over reaching government, government intrusion in our lives, and being against being over taxed and over regulated is for EVERYONE, regardless of color or religion. I also believe that minority communities are better served by having a voice in both parties. So, I am pleased that Artur Davis, Congressman from Alabama since 2002, is changing his party status from Democrat to …

Democrat Star Cory Booker Goes Off Script..With Truth.
  21 May 2012     1:40 pm

Sadly, the Democrat leaders we have today are decidedly anti free market and capitalism. Most regular folk Democrats I know are not. So, there is a disconnect there. But, every once in awhile, you can find a Democrat leader willing to break from the pack, and show disgust over those that demonize what made this country the most prosperous nation on earth, the free market.
Newark (N.J.) Mayor Cory Booker did this during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday. Booker went off message big time when he defended Mitt Romney’s time at Bain …

Brandon Darby, Leftwing Anarchist To Conservative Activist
  17 May 2012     11:22 am

Brandon Darby 2012
Brandon Darby is probably not a name you are familiar with. After you read this you will wonder why you aren’t familiar with him. His story, to say the least, is fascinating. I met Brandon when he spoke at BlogCon a few weeks ago. The short version is this. Darby was approached by the FBI in late 2007 and asked to infiltrate a group of Leftwing anarchists Austin activists planning to protest and disrupt the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minneapolis, Minn. Based on information Darby provided, FBI …

Black Voices On Pres. Obama’s Gay Marriage Stance
  16 May 2012     11:32 am

In gaging the reaction to Obama’s announcement of his support of gay marriage, I thought it might be interesting to hear the opinion of black voices across our country. Although it was easy to find black pastors who differed with Pres. Obama because of their Christian faith (Imagine! Pastors choosing the gospel over Obama!), I thought Carl Jeffers brought up an interesting point as well. He prefaces this by saying that it’s clear to him that whether Obama wins re-election or not, our next President after him will be white, …

Let’s Get To Know Mitt Romney
  14 May 2012     11:20 am

From The Daily.com:
(On) a cold December Sunday in the 1980s Romney got a phone call from a Mormon bishop in Utah who said the adult daughter of one of his members — a single mother who did not belong to the church — needed help. The woman’s heating oil had been turned off in the dead of winter.
Enlisting his young sons to help, Romney loaded up his Gran Torino with firewood and drove the car from the family’s generous house in the leafy Boston suburb of Belmont to the woman’s …
