Census Data Proves Border Surge Began Years Ago
  12 Jul 2014     12:05 am

Enough time has passed since the Central American border surge began and ample information is available that Americans can now separate fact from White House fiction.

First, the children aren’t fleeing violence. Even though the murder rates in Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala are high, but not greater than in Chicago, Detroit or St. Louis, there’s been no recent violence spike that would precipitate a flood of departures.

Furthermore, the Guatemalans are coming from the country’s northern sector, far from the east where most gang crime occurs. Sen. Ted Cruz said that …

One Way Or Another, Central American Children Here To Stay
  5 Jul 2014     12:05 am

In order for Americans to fully grasp the border crisis, they must first understand the difference between an illegal alien and a refugee, one of the many tricky points in immigration law. Simply put, aliens from Canada or Mexico can be returned immediately; those from other countries can only be held for a maximum of 72 hours. Then they’re turned over to the Office of Refugee Resettlement which places them in temporary shelters. The children become wards of the federal government while OOR attempts to reunite the child with a …

Joe Guzzardi, Six Facts You Should Know About Unaccompanied Minors
  22 Jun 2014     12:01 am

Here are six facts you need to know about what President Obama fraudulently calls the unaccompanied minors “urgent humanitarian crisis.”

First, many minors aren’t unaccompanied. Rather, they’re traveling with their mothers, some pregnant with future anchor baby citizens. Other women crossing are of child bearing age-this bodes poorly for Americans who favor limiting population growth. As a whole, the arriving aliens have little education, few jobs skills, and don’t speak English. Many will be dependent on social services throughout their lives.

Second, despite what the Obama administration tells you, the illegal immigrants …

Comical Spin Following The Trouncing Of Eric Cantor
  21 Jun 2014     12:05 am

No sooner had House Majority Leader Eric Cantor conceded his Virginia primary election to upset winner Dave Brat than the pro-amnesty faction’s misinterpretation of the results began.
Politico.com wrote that according to polling commissioned by FWD.us, the Mark Zuckerberg funded amnesty lobbying group, about 72 percent of registered voters in Cantor’s district questioned on election Tuesday said they either “strongly” or “somewhat” support immigration reform. The poll’s questions’ actual wording asked those participating if they support or oppose the House and Senate’s immigration bills that would secure our borders, block employers from hiring “undocumented …

Marine Jailed in Mexico as US Welcomes Illegal Immigrants
  7 Jun 2014     12:05 am

Since March 31, 25-year-old Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi has been jailed in Mexico after making a wrong turn and inadvertently crossing the international border. Tahmooressi’s vehicle carried several guns and the ammunition for them which led Mexico to charge him with possession of unregistered (in Mexico) firearms.
Americans are outraged that a U.S. Marine spent Memorial Day behind bars in Mexico with little meaningful attempt by the White House, Congress or the State Department to free him. According to Fox News, police chained Tahmooressi to a bed, and routinely beat him, often …

On Memorial Day, America Teeters on the Brink
  24 May 2014     12:05 am

For a five-week period that began on May 15, Arlington Cemetery will hold a series of lectures and tours as part of its 150th Anniversary celebration. The national cemetery, the final resting place for more than 400,000 veterans and their families, opened its commemoration with a wreath-laying tribute at Army Pvt. William Christman’s gravesite, Arlington’s first military burial. On March 24, 1864, at age 20, Christman enlisted in the 67th Pennsylvania Infantry; he was buried 50 days later.
Since the Civil War, more than 1.2 million American military personnel have died protecting the …

The National September 11 Memorial and Museum, recently dedicated by President Obama, has been fraught with controversy from the beginning. As one cultural historian summed it up, the museum has too many stakeholders trying to achieve too many irreconcilable goals. Among the cross purposes are the victims’ families’ resistance to the memorial, the presence of the Ground Zero Cross, and Imams who object to what they perceive as the memorial’s unfair portrait of Islam. Also legitimately questioned is the inappropriateness of storing unidentified victim remains in the museum, charging $24 admission and …

Bad Penny Boehner Just Won’t Go Away
  26 Apr 2014     12:05 am

The stupefyingly stubborn John Boehner is at it again. A week ago at a Las Vegas fundraiser, the House speaker audaciously said that he’s hell-bent on passing an immigration bill this year. Then at the exclusive Brown’s Run Country Club in his Ohio home district, Boehner publicly ridiculed his fellow House Republicans for refusing to fall in line. Said Boehner in a whining voice intended to disparage uncooperative Republicans: “Here’s the attitude. Ohhhh. Don’t make me do this. Ohhhh. This is too hard.”
Boehner had captive audiences. To the Nevada hotel …

There Are Better Solutions Than Hiring Teachers Who Came To U.S. Illegally
  19 Apr 2014     12:05 am

Recently, the Denver Public School System announced that it would allow illegal immigrants to teach in its classrooms. Before writing a single additional word, let me clarify two things. First, I’ll address new teachers’ immigration status. They’re aliens who President Obama, through an executive action that was not congressionally approved, granted what is known as deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA). Obama’s policy gives them temporary, two-year legal standing, work authorization and removes them from possible deportation. However, DACA does not put recipients on a path to a green card or …

Non-Enforcement Name Of The Immigration Game
  7 Apr 2014     12:01 am

Since the Department of Homeland Security first introduced the immigration policy known as prosecutorial discretion, enforcement has collapsed. Starting in June 2011, a series of internal memos written by former Immigration and Customs Enforcement director John Morton have gradually gutted enforcement.

Unless aliens are convicted of a capital crime like murder, terrorism or treason, they are virtually certain to be granted discretion and will be allowed to stay in the U.S. Crimes like DUIs, bank fraud or even vehicular manslaughter ICE now classifies as not presenting a serious risk to public …

Population in LA County Hits Unsustainable Record High
  5 Apr 2014     12:05 am

Los Angeles County, where I was born in the mid-1940s, reached an ominous milestone last July. Recently released Census Bureau data show that in 2013 LA County’s population inched over 10 million, nearly twice the total of second place Cook County, Ill. with its 5.3 million people.

In 1940, LA’s population was a hard-to-believe-it-was-so low 7 million. Back then, residents had the roads and the beaches to themselves. There was no such thing as overcrowded schools, backed up emergency rooms or long waits at the DMV. Now those common headaches are …

Slippery Road Ahead As Congress Reconvenes
  29 Mar 2014     12:05 am

With congress reconvening this week, all eyes will be warily cast on President Obama. He recently ordered the Department of Homeland Security to review deportation policies so they might be handled “more humanely.” For millions of Americans who support enforcement first, and who represent the nation’s majority, Obama’s directive sent a chilling message.

Despite the media hoopla surrounding Obama’s alleged “record deportations,” the reverse is true. Last year, about two-thirds of removals were illegal aliens apprehended crossing the border. Previously, DHS classified this category of deportee as a “return” since it …

Obama as Deporter-in-Chief? Not So Fast
  8 Mar 2014     12:05 am

Janet Murguia, the National Council of La Raza’s Chief Executive Officer, recently made an explosive charge against President Barack Obama. Murguia called the president the “Deporter- in-Chief,” a reference to what many Hispanic lobbying organizations allege is Obama’s record number of deportations.

Obama, in his own defense, responded by saying: “I’m the champion-in-chief” of immigration reform. Then, the president blamed congressional inaction for forcing him to unconstitutionally use prosecutorial discretion to not deport certain categories of aliens like childhood arrivals, parents of minor children, and family members of military personnel, breaches …

House: Risk-Reward Calculation Dictates Amnesty Inaction
  22 Feb 2014     12:05 am

On some of America’s most contentious issues, civil discourse takes a back seat to ugly outcry. Last week, masked protesters carrying torches and threatening organized violence demonstrated on the front lawn of the Enbridge Energy Management Company’s president. Environmentalists made a late night visit to Mark Maki’s home and promised “solidarity means attack,” and pledged that their goal is to shut down pipeline development. Enbridge transports natural gas throughout North America.

Last year, megaphone-carrying dissenters gathered on Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach’s lawn to demand that he stop testifying against …

Deportation Statistics: Separating Fact from Fiction
  16 Feb 2014     12:05 am

For more than a year, immigration reform has dominated the news. The Senate and then the House introduced bills that set off a nationwide debate about the perceived merits or inherent flaws written into legislation that would legalize 12 million illegal immigrants and, within a decade, double the number of overseas workers. Those new legal workers would compete for jobs with 20 million unemployed or under-employed Americans.

But if there had been responsible media coverage, the contentious immigration haggling may have died out before it reached the rancorous pinnacle it quickly …

Loosening Immigration Rules May Easy Entry For Terrorists
  15 Feb 2014     12:05 am

House Speaker John Boehner officially tabled for this year an all-encompassing immigration bill because, he said, President Obama can’t be trusted to enforce either existing laws or ones that might be passed.

Boehner is only telling the convenient part of the story, however. Even though Republican leadership that includes Boehner, Whip Kevin McCarthy, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and Budget Chairman Paul Ryan are tripping over themselves to bow at the Chamber of Commerce and Mark Zuckerberg’s cheap labor altar, they can’t sell amnesty to their caucus.
Still, regarding Obama’s immigration untrustworthiness, Boehner is …

Justin Bieber: How He Got Here and Why He Should Be Sent Home
  8 Feb 2014     12:05 am

Canadian-born, teen heart throb Justin Bieber’s criminal misbehavior may indirectly hurt Congress’ push for comprehensive immigration reform. All systems for the White House’s coveted blanket amnesty are “go.” President Obama just touted his version of reform during his Tuesday State of the Union address. House Majority leader John Boehner released what he calls his “immigration principles.” Given those two major immigration developments, now could be a bad time for a foreign-born visa holder to be in the headlines because of his embarrassing illegal antics. Because of Bieber’s high visibility, journalists reporting on …

Gallup Poll: Americans Overwhelmingly Reject Amnesty
  25 Jan 2014     12:05 am

Despite six months of pushing for a blanket amnesty that began in June when the Senate bill passed its uncontrolled immigration bill, advocates can’t sell it to the public. Even after a nonstop effort headed by the immigration lobby that included demonstrations, sit-ins, marches, passionately written editorials and comic political theater that resulted in 8 U.S. Representatives’ arrest, the public isn’t buying it.

According to a new Gallup poll, only 3 percent of Americans support granting an illegal immigrant the right to live and work in the U.S. Immigration lags at …

Huge Immigration Bill Would Destroy King’s Dream for Black and Hispanic Americans
  19 Jan 2014     12:05 am

The Congressional Black Caucus doesn’t share Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream for African-Americans. Fifty-one years ago, King outlined his hopes: that black as well and white men would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. King despaired that blacks were exiled in their own American land and too often denied advancement opportunities.

The CBC has a different objective that would be extremely disappointing to Dr. King.. One of the most powerful congressional caucuses has thrown its imposing weight behind comprehensive immigration reform, legislation that would …

House Leaders, Chamber of Commerce Double-Team Unemployed Americans
  18 Jan 2014     12:05 am

Congress no sooner reconvened than the-all out push for comprehensive immigration reform picked up where it left off. For clarity’s sake, I’ll define “reform” the way Capitol Hill interprets it-legalizing and granting amnesty to 11-20 million illegal immigrants, giving them instant work authorization and tripling legal immigration to more than 30 million high and low-skilled foreign workers within the first decade.

On January 8, House leaders John Boehner and Eric Cantor announced that immigration is on its 2014 must do list. On the same day, in an obviously coordinated effort, Chamber …
