Planets Aligning for Jacob Turk in Bid for Missouri’s Fifth District
12 Mar 2012
4:32 pm
On December 12, 2011, Jacob Turk entered Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri, stood before a microphone and asked those who had gathered before him, “Has our economic outlook improved over the past year? Have we revived the job market? Has our national debt declined? Unfortunately, the answer to all three questions is No.”
Turk then announced he would be challenging Rep. Emanuel Cleaver’s hold on Missouri’s Fifth District for a fourth time.
You read that right. Jacob Turk has run for Congress three times before and lost, each time against Emanuel …

My Latest Project: Now Racist in the U.S.
6 Feb 2012
3:09 pm
I have lamented on my blog that someone should start a list of all the things that are now considered racist so someone can avoid unwittingly saying or doing something that would land them in hot water.
Well, no one did.
So I took it upon myself. Presenting, Now Racist in the U.S.
It’s a work in progress. I’ve added as many instances of ridiculously overt racism as I could find in my Google Reader, but many of the links have come from friends I shared the site with while I …

WaPo Wonders, “Will the LDS Church’s Past Racist Doctrine Hurt Romney?”
1 Feb 2012
12:12 pm
The Church of Latter Day Saint prohibited black people from being members of the priesthood until 1978 because it was believed they were the direct descendants of Cain and cursed. This prohibition was, according to this article from the Washington Post, a “direct commandment from the Lord.”
In 1978, the church had a revelation and the ban was lifted.
Mitt was a member of the church before and after the “revelation” and the Washington Post wants to know, “Is this going to be a problem for Mitt down the road?”
Gee, you …

Change Has Come to America, Now Let’s Change It Back (Video)
20 Jan 2012
2:47 pm
I have been working on this video for a while. It was inspired by a graph I saw at Doug Ross’s site. After looking at it, I thought it would make a good video.
This is the result. Let me know what you think in the comments:

Wall Street Protester Struggles to Explain, Well, Anything (Video)
12 Oct 2011
9:49 pm
I had every intention of going down to the Occupy Kansas City hippie village and conducting interviews, but the water pump on the Green Monster, aka my 1998 Forest Green Chevrolet Malibu, had different plans and began throwing coolant like Linda Blair throws pea soup.
But that’s neither here nor there, and really far to graphic.
In my mind, I imagined every interview down there going exactly like this one:
Let me sum this up for you:
Wall Street Protester: I think this.
British Dude: Here. Have some facts.
Wall Street Protester: *Recoils like a …

Poll: What issue is most important to you?
22 Sep 2011
5:07 pm
In 2008, Human Events polled their readers to find out what issues were most important to them. I have been waiting and waiting for more polls like this from them, but have been left wanting.
So, I decided to conduct the poll myself.
I asked around and looked at some various websites and pulled together 27 different issues that you could possibly care about most, including Human Events’ Top Ten from 2008.
Please choose the one you think is most important right now. In the slim chance your most important issue isn’t on …

Longshoreman Gives Rational and Coherent Statement to Media…Just Kidding, He Threatens Everyone There
9 Sep 2011
4:42 pm
The local media was outside of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU Local 21) offices in Longview, Washington gathering interviews and b-roll.
Here’s what happened when one of the union members, who said his name was “F*ck You C*cksucker,” came outside to discuss their possible trespassing:
Aside from the lack of employment at the port, I can understand why he is so angry. I have listened to “A Boy Named Sue.” Your given name can have a big impact on a boy’s life.
I imagine this guy’s life has just been a …

Fisking Yglesias: Social Security Not a Ponzi Scheme, No Different than 401k – UPDATED
8 Sep 2011
8:48 pm
Over at Think Progress, a George Soros outfit, Matthew Yglesias is actually comparing the Social Security System to your 401k, claiming there’s really not that much difference:
What happens here is that you work while you’re working age. You earn money. You take some of that money to buy shares in firms. Your expectation is that at a future date when you’re not working anymore, you’ll be able to exchange those shares for money. More money than you paid for them in the first place. Why would that work? Well, it …

Emily’s List Targets Rep. Steve King with Blatant Smear
29 Apr 2011
7:32 pm
Emily’s List author, Lisa McIntyre, wants her readers to think Rep. Steve King is a sexist. So much she is willing to lie about it.
The progressive pro-abortion, feminist organization posted an article today slamming Rep. Steve King as a sexist, claiming he would not debate possible Congressional candidate Christine Vilsack because she was a woman.
They continued the lie by claiming King said he would be willing to debate her husband because he was a man.
It’s simply not true. The author is reaching so far to paint King as …

NEA To UN: “Oral Sex, Masturbation, And Orgasms Need To Be Taught In Education”
3 Mar 2011
9:52 pm
The United Nations was busy recently, deciding what every country in the world needs to be teaching their wards. Not wanting to be left out of any meeting that involves the programming of children’s minds, the National Education Association had a seat at the table.
The brought their sexualization of children packet and made the case for teaching, well, everything…to middle school kids:
“Oral sex, masturbation, and orgasms need to be taught in education,” Diane Schneider told the audience at a panel on combating homophobia and transphobia. Schneider, representing the National Education …

Experts: Pedophilia is a Sexual Orientation
2 Mar 2011
9:56 am
I told you this was coming back in 2007. Now, we are seeing it:
In a recent parliamentary session on a bill relating to sexual offenses against children, psychology experts claimed that pedophilia is a “sexual orientation” comparable to homosexuality or heterosexuality, a definition that was questioned by one Member of Parliament who was present.
…
“Pedophiles are not simply people who commit a small offence from time to time but rather are grappling with what is equivalent to a sexual orientation just like another individual may be grappling with heterosexuality or …

Canadian Death Panel Decides Baby Should Die, Canadian Court Agrees
18 Feb 2011
9:42 am
How many liberals have clamored for the humanity of the Canadian Health Care system? I think it’s safe to say that at one time, a majority of the have advocated for a single payer system.
One of the problems with single payer is the government can decide to stop paying because some “death panel” declared the patient’s life not worth the money required to keep them alive.
For example, a panel in Canada’s health care system has decided to remove a baby from life support, despite the parents protestations. The …

Despicable: AlterNet Declares Herman Cain a Race Traitor, Monkey
15 Feb 2011
11:13 am
I have heard Herman Cain speak on mulitple occasions now, and every time it gets better. One thing he has repeated, however, is the idea that when liberals try to answer a question, they are guilty of S.I.N.
Tim Gray explains what Cain means:
“S” stands for “Shifting the blame.” When a conservative points out something that the Obama Administration does is wrong, or what Congress did is wrong, a liberal is quick to shift the blame. “If it weren’t for the mess that Bush left us….”
“I” stands for “Ignoring …

How to Turn Physical Comedy into a Race Issue, by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee
11 Feb 2011
9:52 am
If you didn’t see the Super Bowl, you didn’t see this ad air:
Now that’s funny…unless you are an incredibly dense, race baiting Congresswoman:
Jackson Lee said it was ridiculous for the soft drink maker to air the advertisement during African-American history month.
“In this month of African-American history where we’re trying to celebrate what is good and great, it certainly seems ridiculous that Pepsi would utilize this kind of humor,” she said. “It was not humorous. It was demeaning — an African-American woman throwing something at an African-American male and winding up …

TSA Gets Unknown Package on Plane for a $100 Bribe – Updated
19 Jan 2011
10:52 am
My flights to CPAC, or to BlogCon, are bookended with my silent recitation of the Lord’s Prayer. The most dangerous points in your air travel are the takeoff and the landing. From what I’ve read, more-so the landing.
But there’s also the threat of terrorism. I’ve always allowed myself a bit of comfort in the premise that what is on the plane with me, both people and cargo, has had multiple sets of eyes on it, and the eyes belonged to people who were looking …

My 10 Minutes with Herman Cain – An All American Interview
10 Jan 2011
5:01 am
My wife mentioned to me one evening that Herman Cain was going to be in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Saturday, January 8th to talk with a small group of people. So I e-mailed the organizer and next thing I know, I’m sitting down with The Hermanator for a 10 minute one-on-one interview.
—
So what brings you to Iowa?
We decided to stop in for a cup of coffee.
(Laughs)
No, soon we will be making a formal announcement about forming an exploratory committee, which as you know, is the first formal step that you …

In Maine, Long Haired Freaky People Need Not Apply
3 Jan 2011
1:49 pm
There are rumors that Andrew Ian Dodge, freelance writer and Maine coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots, is planning a run against perennial RINO Sen. Olympia Snowe:
Maine’s Tea Party Patriots state coordinator, Andrew Ian Dodge, hinted for weeks that he had intimate knowledge of a viable Snowe challenger, but he refused to name the person. It became clear in recent days that the mystery candidate is none other than Dodge himself.
Dodge would not confirm his candidacy outright, but he did …

I Am Humbled.
11 Nov 2010
2:44 pm
I had a Redbox movie I needed to return (Robin Hood, if you’re wondering) and I needed to pick up a few things from the grocery store, so I decided to put on my old USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) ballcap and take advantage of the free breakfast for veterans at the local Maryville Hy-Vee Food Store.
When I walked into the store I saw the eating area fuller than I had ever seen it. There were even tables set up outside the seating area for overflow customers.
Before I could make …

Brutal Fisking: NC NAACP Chapter Pres. Alleges Tea Party is as Racist as Democrats
22 Oct 2010
10:33 am
The NAACP has released its unbiased report on racism in the Tea Party and has unexpectedly found it is racist.
Hardly surprising.
The president of the North Carolina NAACP chapter, Rev. William Barber, went far enough in his condemnation of the group to be noticed by the Washington Post:
“We have to have particular concern about supremacy attitudes, violence, hate language, particularly when it’s rooted in notions of restoring or taking back or redeeming the country,” Barber said. “Because, in the American social-historical-political psyche, we have historical markers that tell us how dangerous …

Illegal Immigration Is No Joke (Video)
27 Sep 2010
11:03 am
Last Friday, Congressman Zoe Lofgren, chairman of the immigration subcommittee, invited comedian Stephen Colbert to Congress to testify on the subject of illegal immigration. Colbert testified in character, a parody of Fox News Bill O’Reilly.
Nancy Pelosi said, “It can bring attention to an important issue like immigration. I think it’s great.”
Steny Hoyer thinks Colbert was an embarrassment. Not to Congress, but to himself.
Here’s my take:
