RWN Returns Tuesday: Unfortunately, I've made my last post of the day because I'm heading to the beach on vacation. I will not be returning until Monday afternoon which means that RWN won't be back until Tuesday. Later tonight, I'll log in and post an already prepared list of websites in the daily news section. If I'm not going to be here, maybe I can at least farm out a little traffic to some deserving websites.
Remember -- their money pays for hosting, consultants, interview phone bills, bandwidth, & all the other costs of running a blog. So show these pages that they were smart to advertise with RWN by taking a look at their blogs.
Thanks for the support everyone, I'll see you on Tuesday.
Read 'Em & Bookmark Us: Right Wing has had a lot of new readers hit the page this week and I thought I might convince some of them to bookmark the page by showing them some of RWN's best work. So here are few articles new readers might want to take a look at...
Anyone Can Post On The Internet (Covering the Oddities Of The Internet)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Link RWN & Win #2: The first Link RWN & Win contest went well, but unfortunately a lot of smaller blogs were unable to send over enough traffic to qualify. That's why I decided to do the contest again and take out the traffic requirements. So here's all you have to do to be eligible for the contest...
1) Link ANY RWN post. It can be this post or any other RWN post of your choosing.
2) Then go to the comments section of this post and tell me you want to be entered into the contest.
That's all you have to do to be eligible to win an RWN main page ad. The ad will be marked as an advertisement & it can run up to 400 words. Ads on RWN's front page stay up for 3 days. Normally, these ads cost $7.50. Here's an example of what one looks like.
This contest runs from today until 11:59 PM on Monday June 16th.
Legal Disclaimer: RWN reserves the right to decline to allow anyone to participate in the contest and to deny the winner an ad for any reason of our choice. I don't expect to prevent anyone from participating or winning an ad, but better safe than sorry in our litigious society.
Misc Commentary: Here are a few things I wanted to talk about that didn't merit their own posts...
-- Dick Morris has some great Clinton stories doesn't he? I mean how many people can say that Bill Clinton tried to punch them out? Here's Morris's account of the incident...
"Bill Clinton had tried to beat me up in May of 1990 as he, (Hillary), Gloria Cabe, and I were together in the Arkansas governor's mansion. At the time, Bill was worried that he was falling behind his democratic primary opponent and verbally assaulted me for not giving his campaign the time he felt it deserved. Offended by his harsh tone, I turned and stalked out of the room.
Bill ran after me, tackled me, threw me to the floor of the kitchen in the mansion and cocked his fist back to punch me. (Hillary) grabbed his arm and, yelling at him to stop and get control of himself, pulled him off me. Then (Hillary) walked me around the grounds of the mansion in the minutes after, with your arm around me, saying, "He only does that to people he loves."

-- If you enjoy blog related catfights, then you can't miss the "Moxie Wars". It started with a post by Moxie. Then the other Moxie responded here (and in several other posts). From that point on, things spread across the net with posts by Right Thinking From The Left Coast, Gut Rumbles, & Jim Treacher among others. Make sure to read the comments if you want to see some real venom...
-- There's no point in even TRYING to negotiate peace between the Palestinians & Israelis when there are groups of terrorists running around deliberately trying to scuttle the peace talks while Abbas & company stand around with their hands in their pockets. That means Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, & Fatah need to be outlawed and eliminated. Their members can get out the terrorist business, leave the country, get thrown in jail, or preferably have their brains blown out. Once those groups are wiped out and the Israelis can deal with just the Palestinian government, ideally a Democratically elected one, then they just MIGHT have chance of negotiating a peace. Now the question is, "when are the Palestinians going to have a leader who's willing to fight the terrorists to get a state for his people?" Arafat is part of the problem and Abbas doesn't seem to be up to the challenge either. Maybe someone will come along in another decade or two if the Palestinians haven't been transferred by then or if some homicide bomber with a nuke hasn't wiped out the Israelis...
School Vouchers In DC? What Do They Have To Lose?: There is a big debate going on about setting up a voucher program for DC schools. But when you look at, the numbers, it becomes obvious that they're not exactly taking a big risk by setting up a voucher program...
"...A November 2002 report by the school superintendent showed that 70 percent of students in the system performed at or below a basic level in reading and math on one national test.
The average score for D.C. graduating pubic high school seniors in 2002 on another standardized test, the SAT, was 796 compared to a national average of 1020, the report said. Federal statistics also show Washington has one of the highest school dropout rates in the country."
If your first concern is our children's education, this is slam dunk for vouchers. After all, if we can give parents the option of moving their kids from a failing school system to private schools where their kids can usually be educated at a cost BELOW what the public school systems charge per pupil, what's not to like? If YOU lived in DC, wouldn't you rather send your kid to some top notch private school rather than a public school where you know your kid has a 70% chance of performing, "at or below a basic level in reading and math?" With what we pay as a nation to educate our kids, no student should be forced to go to a mediocre public school when they could be going to a private school instead.
The IndyMedia Post Of The Day: If you listen closely, you can hear the howl of the raving moonbats as they roam the internet. Here are a few excepts from one of the members of the tinfoil hat gang that I found on Indymedia. This one was so bizarre that you just had to see it...
"...These massive chemical sprayings being passed off as some sort of terrorist defense here are evident in every area of America, and the sprays themselves are composed of materials which, over the long run, will create a siituation where only special seeds will work in the highly conductive soil, seeds created by Genetic Modification, seeds sold by world banking and their cronies. Get it?
The real reason behind these sprayings are to envelope the broadcast power of the antennae farms, now erected in every city and outlying area, and to help focus satellites in orbit whose job is helping ground crews track progress of the wind directions and speeds, in relation to the ionospheric heating apparatusā?? (Antennae).
This type of broadcast science is the ultimate thrust of the New World Order/World Banking Industry, in its attempt to over take America, and it has supporters in every branch of government and media, and especially from boy george bush, presidential appointee of the world banking industry, whose family has been instrumental in surreptiously absconding with taxpayer dollars to help fund this technology of control.
...For now, the New World Orders aircraft stay out of reach as they spray wantonly over America, but the ground based antennae systems are wide open and EVERYWHERE. They are called cell towers, and most are used for regular communications, as well as direct camera surveillance, and many posess broadcast surveillance and weaponry (TIA) that is classified, and used strictly for control of the subject population....you are feeling sleeeepy, sleeeeeeeeeeeeepy. Stop by one of these gigantic antennas in your neighborhood, they are in every city I have visited in the USA, and have been erected quietly and with no fanfare for over 10 years now. The reason no great notice was given these towers is because they are a key to this take-over in America, and they are very vulnerable to long range attack by just about anyone with a rifle."
Chemicals, gigantic mind control antennas, & the banking industry? Take it from me, that's all garbage. The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy is actually going to take over America with our Ronald "Maximus" Reagan M-Class Mech Warriors & spam schemes. If it wasn't for the monkeypox that wiped out our cybernetic monkey army, we'd already have things well in hand...
Environmental Extremists Vs. The Poor: It seems the environmental whackos are terribly concerned about....take a guess? No, this times it's not the Bush administration, nuclear power, drilling in ANWR, or SUVs, it's...people in the developing world using flush toilets. Here's Larry Warnberg on the horrors of letting poor people use flush toilets ...
"...Larry Warnberg, a featured speaker at the conference, said China and other developing world nations cannot aspire to mimic the U.S. and Europe's reliance on modern flush toilets and the resultant sewage infrastructure.
"That is a wrong turn, and it will just be an environmental disaster. The same is true in Brazil and Africa. There are better choices,"...
...Warnberg laments the widespread use of flush toilets in the industrialized nations of the U.S. and Europe, and he does not want to see the flush toilet adopted by the developing nations in Africa and South America.
"I think it is a mistake to inflict that convenience on a developing county and cost without realizing what the consequences are," Warnberg added."
But if not a flush toilet, then what...outhouses? No, they're advocating,
"...A waterless dry toilet, which generally costs about $2,000, collects human urine and feces and requires emptying by humans on a regular basis. Advocates claim the resulting matter can then be composted and used as fertilizer for food crops."
I know you're probably thinking, "Wow! You mean for only $2000 I can handle my own feces and use it in my garden to help grow tomatoes? Where do I sign up?"
In all seriousness, it's hypocritical and cruel to fly around to international conferences, eat catered meals, and enjoy cocktail parties while you're advocating denying flush toilets to the poorest people on Earth in the name of the environment. These people should be ashamed....
If The Bush Administration Lied About WMD, So Did These People (Updated)
If The Bush Administration Lied About WMD, So Did These People (Updated): I did a bit more research on this issue and added new quotes from John Edwards, John Kerry, Patty Murray, Henry Waxman, John Rockefeller among others. I will also be adding a permanent link to this article in the quotes section. Make note of it and use it the next time someone tries to claim that Bush a liar because we haven't figured out what happened to the WMDs yet. (Cont)
***Update***: Toren Smith from the Safety Valve posted in the comments section to explain the obvious to some of the people who just aren't getting it...
"I'm curious as to how you Lefties could be any more stupid without being dead. Look--you claimed Bush was lying about the WMDs. We believed him. You claimed that if he was lying it was the worst disaster in the world and rendered the entire Iraq war a horrible violation of international law or something.
John points out that if he was lying, a lot of your favorite people were lying, too. Please note: we do not believe they were lying! We believe Saddam had WMDs. The point that is being made here is that if, as you seem to fervently believe, Bush was lying about the WMDs and this calls for impeachment or the rack or something, then a serious crapload of your buddies are in the same boat. Get a clue, willya?"
Exactly. We don't know what happened to the WMD yet, but there's no question that Saddam had them. I talked about this subject back on "May 29th", and I stand by what I said then.
***Update #2***: Maybe it's just coincidence, but tonight on Fox News, Brit Hume busted out the Robert Byrd quote I found in this article. Ya gotta love it...
Bloggers Claim Credit for Bringing Down Sun By Scott Ott: Writers of weblogs throughout the "blogosphere" last night posted items bragging about the latest demonstration of the so-called power of blogging.
Having attributed the fall of Sen. Trent Lott, and New York Times editors Howell Raines and Gerald Boyd to persistent badgering in the blogosphere, the writers yesterday took credit for bringing down the sun.
A spokesman for the flaming orb at the center of the solar system denied that bloggers had anything to do with the sun's disappearance late yesterday. He insisted, "The sun will come out tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there'll be sun."
Sure enough, the sun slowly appeared this morning from below the horizon. An unnamed blogger said this morning's rising of the sun did not disprove the power of blogging.
"Think of all the other stars that fell last night, never to rise again," said the blogger. "Who do you think caused that? Heh."

Won't We Need Passports To Dominate The World?: Ultra-lefty Harold Pinter has gone off the deep end again. No big surprise there...
"The playwright said: "The US is really beyond reason now. It is beyond our imagining to know what they are going to do next and what they are prepared to do. There is only one comparison: Nazi Germany.
"Nazi Germany wanted total domination of Europe and they nearly did it. The US wants total domination of the world and is about to consolidate that.
"In a policy document, the US has used the term 'full-spectrum domination', that means control of land, sea, air and space, and that is exactly what's intended and what the US wants to fulfil. They are quite blatant about it."
Pinter blamed "millions of totally deluded American people" for not staging a mass revolt.
He said that because of propaganda and control of the media, millions of Americans believed that every word Mr Bush said was "accurate and moral".
The US population could not be let off scot-free for putting the country under the control of an "illegally elected president - in other words, a fake".
He asked: "What objections have there been in the US to Guantanamo Bay? At this very moment there are 700 people chained, padlocked, handcuffed, hooded and treated like animals. It is actually a concentration camp."
There's a lot there to tear into there if you're so inclined, but most of it has been covered so many times. Frothing lefties have been calling the GOP Nazis for so long it has almost become passe. Furthermore, crybabies on the left have been complaining about Al Gore's loss in the 2000 election since it happened, but as I've pointed out before, their complaints are bogus. I also don't think a lot of people are exactly terribly concerned about how the terrorists are being treated at Gitmo. Considering that they were hiding in caves before they were sent to Guantanamo Bay, the living conditions are probably a significant step up.
But, I do want to address this idea of, "domination of the world". I'm a Conservative who's to the right of George Bush and who's more Neo-Conservative than the Neo-Conservatives when it comes to the war on terrorism. And yes, I will admit that I want America to have an overwhelmingly powerful military, booming economy, and pervasive cultural influence. Is that so we can "dominat(e)...the world"? No, it's so we can be left alone!
We want our country to be so strong that no one will dare to attack us, a thriving economy so we can enjoy our security, and we want our culture to spread so other nations can succeed just as we have. We don't think like the pre-WW1 Europeans who looked at wars and conquest as some sort of grand adventure. Americans go to war because it needs to be done and the rest of the Western World is either too weak to get the job done without us (Britain, Australia, Poland, etc) or they're perfectly content to passively watch the whole world go to hell in handbasket while they sit around and watch (France, Germany, Belgium, Canada, etc).
You think we want to boss other nations around? Bah, most of us don't even have a desire to vacation outside the US, much less go to other countries and "dominate" them. You think we enjoy having our troops in Iraq or for that matter North Korea, Japan, Germany, and the rest of the world? Hell no, but if we withdraw from the world, everybody else will just screw things up and we'll have to come in and fix the mess when it's ten times worse. Maybe that sounds arrogant, but it's also reality as many Americans see it...
11 Quick Tips For Bloggers: Here are eleven things I think are worth getting out there to fledgling bloggers...
-- Everybody with an opinion about anything gets hate mail on the net. Don't let it irritate you and don't bother replying. Why waste your time talking to people who loathe your work enough to write you hate mail?
-- In general, it's not a good idea to tell people where you work about your blog. The last thing you need is your boss getting in a huff because he thinks some flip comment you made reflects negatively on the company.
-- Don't feel that you have to respond to criticism aimed at you by other bloggers. Unless it's from a big page, you feel the criticism merits a reply, or unless you think it would entertain your readers to talk about it, why bother replying? You're just sending them traffic for criticizing you.
-- Gaining an audience usually takes a lot of time even if you do good work. Be prepared to work for months and maybe even YEARS before you start to take off.
-- If you haven't already done so, submit your blog to Daypop, Blogdex, & Popdex. It may help you get more traffic, it helps get more Conservative stories out there, & it helps RWN get more posts to the top of the charts. Furthermore, it's free, quick, & easy to sign up. So make sure you're listed.
-- Don't write when you're angry because you very well may say things that you regret. And writing things you probably shouldn't have on a website where people can comment on it probably isn't going to help your mood.
-- You're better off spending your time writing posts that all of your readers are going to see rather than posting in your comments section where only a fraction of your readers will read it (unless you have open comments like Bill Quick).
-- Make a Favicon for your website. It's not a big deal, but I just think they're cool. I made mine with an older version of this.
-- Don't be stingy with the outgoing links. You'd be surprised at how many people who link you will first learn about the existence of your blog because they saw your URL in their referrer logs.
-- Do write about the blogosphere because bloggers as a whole tend to be narcissistic and they love to link articles that talk about what they're doing.
If The Bush Administration Lied About WMD, So Did These People
If The Bush Administration Lied About WMD, So Did These People: Since we haven't found WMD in Iraq yet, a lot of the anti-war/anti-Bush crowd is claiming that the Bush administration lied about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. The story being floated now is that Saddam had no WMD (or almost none) and that the Bush administration lied about the WMD threat.
Well, if the Bush administration lied, there sure are a lot of Democrats who told the same lies since the inspectors pulled out of Iraq in 1998. Here are just a few examples of what I'm talking about...
"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." -- From a letter signed by Joe Lieberman, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara A. Milulski, Tom Daschle, & John Kerry among others on October 9, 1998
"Saddam's goal ... is to achieve the lifting of U.N. sanctions while retaining and enhancing Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs. We cannot, we must not and we will not let him succeed." -- Madeline Albright, 1998
"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retained some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capability. Intelligence reports also indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons, but has not yet achieved nuclear capability." -- Robert Byrd, October 2002
"What is at stake is how to answer the potential threat Iraq represents with the risk of proliferation of WMD. Baghdad's regime did use such weapons in the past. Today, a number of evidences may lead to think that, over the past four years, in the absence of international inspectors, this country has continued armament programs." -- Jacques Chirac, October 16, 2002
"The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow." -- Bill Clinton in 1998
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security." -- Hillary Clinton, October 10, 2002
"I am absolutely convinced that there are weapons...I saw evidence back in 1998 when we would see the inspectors being barred from gaining entry into a warehouse for three hours with trucks rolling up and then moving those trucks out." -- Clinton's Secretary of Defense William Cohen in April of 2003
"Iraq is not the only nation in the world to possess weapons of mass destruction, but it is the only nation with a leader who has used them against his own people." -- Tom Daschle in 1998
"I share the administration's goals in dealing with Iraq and its weapons of mass destruction." -- Dick Gephardt in September of 2002
"Iraq does pose a serious threat to the stability of the Persian Gulf and we should organize an international coalition to eliminate his access to weapons of mass destruction. Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to completely deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." -- Al Gore, 2002
"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction." -- Bob Graham, December 2002
"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." -- Ted Kennedy, September 27, 2002
"As a member of the House Intelligence Committee, I am keenly aware that the proliferation of chemical and biological weapons is an issue of grave importance to all nations. Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." -- Nancy Pelosi, December 16, 1998
"Even today, Iraq is not nearly disarmed. Based on highly credible intelligence, UNSCOM [the U.N. weapons inspectors] suspects that Iraq still has biological agents like anthrax, botulinum toxin, and clostridium perfringens in sufficient quantity to fill several dozen bombs and ballistic missile warheads, as well as the means to continue manufacturing these deadly agents. Iraq probably retains several tons of the highly toxic VX substance, as well as sarin nerve gas and mustard gas. This agent is stored in artillery shells, bombs, and ballistic missile warheads. And Iraq retains significant dual-use industrial infrastructure that can be used to rapidly reconstitute large-scale chemical weapons production." -- Ex-Un Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter in 1998

More Haunted Items For Sale On Ebay....& RWN:Apparently "haunted" items must fetch a higher price on Ebay than they otherwise would. Last week I ran across the, "Ghost In A Jar." But, that jar paled in comparison to....drumroll please...., the "Ghost/Haunted/Cursed/DIBBUK BOX!" Yes, it's the ultimate evil artifact! It's so evil that it could be the 4th, 5th, & 6th members of the Axis of evil! It's full of more evilicious eviltude than Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Hitler, Medusa, Mao, Stalin, Vlad the Impaler, & Hannibal Lecter all put together! It's so evil that...awwww, just read at the description...
"...Since the day I brought it home, I began having a strange recurring nightmare. Every time I have the horrible dream it goes something like this: I find myself walking with a friend - usually someone I know well and trust - at some point in the dream, I find myself looking into the eyes of the person that I am with. It is then that I realize that there is something different, something evil looking back at me. At that point in my dream, the person I am with changes into what can only be described as the most gruesome, demonic looking Hag that I have ever seen. This Hag proceeds then, to beat the living tar out of me. I have awakened numerous times to find bruises and marks on myself where I had been hit by the old woman during the previous night. Still, I never related the nightmares to the cabinet, nor do I think that I ever would have.
About a month ago, however, my sister, and my brother and his wife came over to my house and spent the night. The following morning, during breakfast, my sister complained that she had a horrible nightmare. She said that she recalled having had it a couple of times before, and went on to describe my nightmare exactly to the last detail. My brother and his wife froze as they listened, and then chimed in that they had both had the exact same dreams during the night as well. The hair was standing up on the back of my neck and still is. As we talked, it became clear that the common denominator was that each of us had the nightmare during the times that the cabinet was in our respective homes. I called my girlfriend and asked if she could recall having any nightmares recently. She described the same nightmare, same Hag, everything. When I asked her if she remembered the date when she had the nightmare, she said she did not. Then I asked if it happened to be the night before she gave me the cabinet back to sell for her. She said, "Yeah! Hey, how did you know that?!!!"
Now then, since my family discussion, it seems like all hell is breaking loose. For a week afterward I started seeing what I can only describe as shadow things in my peripheral vision. In fact, numerous visitors to my house have claimed that they have seen these shadow things. I put the cabinet in an outside storage unit and was awakened when the smoke alarm in the unit went off in the middle of the night. When I went to see what was burning, I opened the door and didn't see any smoke. However, I did get hit with the smell of cat urine. When I went back inside, the smell was there in my house. I DO NOT OWN A CAT AND I NEVER HAVE. I went back outside and grabbed the cabinet. I brought it back inside and tried to research it on the Internet. While I was surfing the net, I fell asleep and once again had the same freakin' nightmare. I woke up at around 4:30am (when it felt and smelled like someone was breathing on my neck) to find that my house now smelled like Jasmine flowers, and just in time to see a HUGE shadow thing go loping down the hall away from me.
I would destroy this thing in a second, except I really don't have any understanding of what I may or may not be dealing with. I am afraid (and I do mean afraid) that if I destroy the cabinet, whatever it is that seems to have come with the cabinet may just stay here with me. I have been told that there are people who shop on EBAY that understand these kinds of things and specifically look for these kinds of items. If you are one of these people, please, please buy this cabinet and do whatever you do with a thing like this. Help me."
I would be tempted to laugh the whole thing off...if I didn't have a haunted copy of Noam Chomsky's, "Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media". A friend gave it to me as a gag gift and I was using it as a coaster...I think that's what angered it!
From that night on I had horrible dreams! Some nights Paul Begala was on every channel, other nights Tom Daschle was saying that he was "disappointed" that we only raised taxes 30%, & one horrible night I even dreamed Jimmy Carter was President again (that one still frightens me).
Then there were the nameless dark shapes creeping through the house at all hours of the night and replacing all the meat in the fridge with tofu, changing my homepage to the New York Times, and writing, "Cuba has a fantastic healthcare system" on the bathroom mirror in toothpaste.
It has just gotten too creepy for me! That's why I decided to sell the book here on RWN for the bargain basement price of $499.00. Hopefully some of the fatcats who tossed thousands of dollars at Andrew Sullivan during his fundraiser will take this cursed book off my hands. Maybe someone like the American Enterprise Institute or National Review could even figure out how to use the book to curse whoever the Democratic nominee is in 2004. Don't underestimate the book's terrifying power!!! Buy it now, before it falls into the wrong hands!!!
The Top 10 Things Frank J Didn't Find Out From Hilliary's Book: Hillary Clinton has a book out! I know all of you must be racing to not read it, but I'll save you the trouble and not read it for you. Here are top 10 things I didn't find out from the book...
10) Exactly how many people she estimated her universal health plan would kill.
9) That Chelsea Clinton was played by a child actor.
8) Whether she shot Vince Foster execution style or gangsta style.
7) What are the exact details of her pact with Satan.

We'll Be Living In Unibomber Style Shacks If Greenpeace Has Its Way
We'll Be Living In Unabomber Style Shacks If Greenpeace Has Its Way: When Conservatives like me call groups like Greenpeace, "environmental whackos" and "extremists", we're not exaggerating. Just look at this article called, "Greenpeace tells coal industry to shut up shop" in the Sidney Morning Herald and you'll see what I mean...
"International environmental watchdog Greenpeace yesterday called on the coal industry to stop producing coal and to invest instead in clean and renewable energy.
"The coal industry bears a heavy responsibility in inflicting damage to the environment," a Greenpeace statement quoted one of its activists as telling a conference of coal companies in Bali.
"This industry should stop promoting coal and start investing in renewable energy," the activist, Red Constantino, was quoted as saying.
Greenpeace said Constantino told delegates at CoalTrans Asia 2003, an annual gathering of the world's largest coal companies, to act against the threat of climate change caused by burning coal.
"The coal industry needs to clean up its act. Because of climate change, the only way it can do this is to phase itself out starting today, not tomorrow," he said."
The coal industry should just, "phase itself out?" Well then we better get used to California style blackouts all across the world -- except 10 times worse. I say that because coal "provides around 39% of the world's electricity." What are we supposed to replace all that coal generated power with? Windmills & solar power are too inefficient to ever be a really major source of electricity and these same activists strongly oppose bringing new oil wells or nuclear plants online. So again, what are we supposed to replace all that coal generated power with? The honest truth is that the environmental activists don't want to replace it at all. That's because like some of us have been pointing out for a while now, Greenpeace and their ilk are radical Luddites who have an agenda that is way out of the mainstream.
Well, I thought the time was right to go ahead and do what I set out to do -- rank the political blogs. (Cont)

When You Add Jimmy Carter To '1984' In Britain You Get
When You Add Jimmy Carter To '1984' In Britain You Get...: Would this idea that our British cousins are considering be too much even for the most rabid Green Party members in America? I'd like to think the answer would be "yes," but I'd love to see the replies if this was floated on some left-wing message boards...
"THE British government is studying a model to tax motorists country-wide based on the time they spend on the road, according to reports.
Satellites and computers would track motorists in order to bill them for the specific route they take, Minister of Transport Alistair Darling said to the British weekly.
Commuters, school-run parents and motorway users would bear the brunt of a variable system, where charges would be highest for rush-hour travel and for using the most congested roads. Use of motorways in Britain is currently gratis."
The fact that the Brits aren't absolutely flipping out over this is disturbing. Of course, any nation that shrugs off the government putting out the, "Secure Beneath Watchful Eyes Posters" isn't terribly concerned privacy to begin with. Give it another twenty years and the British public may be ready for '1984' style telescreens the way they're going...
Why Are We Wasting Our Time With The Roadmap To Murderville?
Why Are We Wasting Our Time With The Roadmap To Murderville?: Here's a quote from a Yahoo piece about the implementation of the peace process that shows what a pointless waste of time this whole charade is...
"...Meanwhile, Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas was struggling to implement a key obligation for his side - the halting of anti-Israeli violence.
Abbas said Monday he would not use force against Palestinian militants under any circumstances, despite their stated determination to derail the peace plan with attacks on Israelis, including two weekend shootings that killed five soldiers.
He repeated his stance that he wants to avoid a civil war among Palestinians and still believes militants will agree to a ceasefire."
Yes, I can just imagine conversations between Abbas and the terrorist groups...
Abbas: I want you to stop attacking the Israelis...
Hamas & Islamic Jihad: So what happens if we don't?
Abbas: I'll ask you again...
Hamas & Islamic Jihad: But that's it, you're not going to arrest us or try to kill us?
Abbas: No, under no circumstances will I use violence and....hey, hey, where are you going?
Hamas & Islamic Jihad: (As they walk off firing their AK-47s in the air) Hooray! We can do whatever we want!
Abbas: Maybe we can talk tomorrow? Hello? Hey come back...please? Pretty please with sugar on it?
Hamas and Islamic Jihad have both openly said that they intend to keep attacking Israel whether the Palestinians get a state or not. So if Abbas says that he will, "not use force against Palestinian militants under any circumstances" then what exactly is Israel supposed to be getting out of this deal again? Even a ceasefire with these groups is meaningless because they'll just use the time to rebuild their organizations and restart the violence at their leisure. To try to start a peace process while Hamas & Islamic Jihad are operating freely is senseless and the Bush administration should make that clear instead of continuing to push this "Roadmap" farce.
The Democratic Underground Post Of The Day: This DU poster floats the theory that Bush & the entire South have entered together in a sinister conspiracy against blacks...
corarose:"Southerners voted Republican & for Bush to rid Blacks of benefits C-Span caller this morning said that she was down south and all of the southerners voted for republicans & Bush because they were told by their representitives that Bush would get rid of everything that helps Black people.
Look at what Bush has done so far with Universities so far he is doing away with quotas. If this is true why haven't any of us midwest, north, east or west heard about this? I have a gut feeling that this it true because it has either happened or it is going to happen.
Like I said the Bush crime cabal have dealings with the KKK."
Ehr..."everything that helps black people"? So are we going all the way back to slavery here? Wow, I guess all of us Southerners can keep a secret too, except for that one person who blabbed to the Yankee who called C-Span. Man, how can anyone be so out of it that they'd buy into this sort of rubbish?
John Hawkins: To begin with, unless Hilliary or Gore got in the race, I'd say Dean, Kerry, Gephardt, Lieberman, & Edwards are the only candidates with even an outside chance to get the nomination. Do you agree?
Pejman Yousefzadeh: Yes. But, Al Sharpton can definitely play spoiler and can make life miserable for the other candidates.
Laurence Simon: Not only will I put a "no" on Lieberman, but I would not count Sharpton out of it. Sharpton is not just a spoiler, but can rally the 'disenfranchised' voter. He could mount one heck of a protest vote.
David Hogberg: I'd leave Lieberman out -- the base wants a lefty, he's still too moderate. (Cont)
