Extravagant Salaries at Taxpayer-Subsidized Abortion Mill

Putting down unwanted children is a highly lucrative industry, yet the #1 abortion business in the country, Planned Parenthood, is massively subsidized by taxpayers. Where does all the money go? A partial answer:

Planned Parenthood likes to paint itself as a crucial provider of affordable women’s health care to the poor. But it also aids the rich. JillStanek.com reports that the Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s 2012 IRS Form 990 shows that CEO Cecile Richards made over one-half million dollars — $523,616 — for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2013.

In fact, for that 2012 reporting period, PPFA’s 12-member executive team tallied a combined income of $3.87 million.

A bipartisan coalition of 105 Members of the House of Representatives have sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-N.V.) asking him to allow a vote on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, stating: “there is now clear, incontrovertible scientific evidence that babies feel pain at 20 weeks fetal age. And this fact is reflected in standard medical practice…”

The signers ask Reid simply for an opportunity to bring the bill to the floor for a vote.

The letter cites a Charlotte Lozier Institute finding that the U.S. is one out of only seven countries globally that allows abortion more than halfway through pregnancy.

However, Reid has blocked the bill on behalf of his fellow leftists and will continue to block it. In his defense, pro-life activists are only concerned about the pain of children torn to pieces in the womb; what about the pain Cecile Richards would feel if restrictions on abortion cut into her massive salary?
