Public Broadcasting Leftists Rake in Huge Salaries
31 Mar 2011
2:54 pm
Dave Blount
When James O’Keefe pulled a sting operation on Ron Schiller of the left-wing propaganda service National Public Radio, the moonbat admitted not only to hatred of normal Americans and sympathy for Islamic terrorists, but also that NPR did not need any of the taxpayer money it has been bathing in. But the ill-gotten loot is nice to have anyway, when doling out salaries like these:
Fresh Air host / executive producer Terry Gross: $245,563 in 2008
This American Life host Ira Glass: earned $170,605 in 2008
Morning Edition host Renee Montagne: $405,140

ADA to Be Used as Tire Iron to Smash Business’s Kneecaps
31 Mar 2011
2:48 pm
Dave Blount
Let’s see, what else could our government do to make it difficult to run a profitable business in this country? I know — expand the insane Americans With Disabilities Act so that it covers more than half the population:
Millions of Americans may be disabled and not even know it, according to some legal experts.
That’s because sweeping new regulations from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission offer new guidelines on the issue of how to define “disability” under the Americans with Disabilities Act. …
“Before, perhaps 40 million people were covered by the …

31 Mar 2011
2:17 pm
Warner Todd Huston
Let’s say your job is as a traveling salesman or a construction worker and you work at different locations throughout the year. Wouldn’t it be nice to get your own free chauffeur service to get back and forth to work? That way you could just drive yourself to one location a day and then have your chauffeur take you back and forth to your work site. Nice, huh? Well, apparently that is what’s going on in Chicago for city worker union members and taxpayer’s are paying $18 million a year …

Mich. Teachers Assoc. Features Photo of Gov. Snyder as Devil on Facebook Page
31 Mar 2011
2:16 pm
Warner Todd Huston
The Mackinac Center for Public Policy has a devil of a story. It appears that the Michigan Education Association was hosting a photo of Michigan Governor Rick Snyder replete with bloodspatters and occult symbols making the governor out to be the devil. (See image below)
The Mackinac Center alerted the MEA about the offensive image that had been on the page since March 11 and the teachers group claimed they had no idea it was there and did not put it there themselves.
How it is that such an image can for …

What a Difference a President Makes When It Comes To Outrage Over Abuse by Our Soldiers
31 Mar 2011
12:04 pm
Kathleen McKinley
Who could forget Abu Ghraib? How could you? The news was saturated with the disgusting and sick photographs of soldiers with prisoners. We were shocked and horrified. The media couldn’t get enough. There was practically 24/7 coverage for weeks on end about it. Every aspect of the story was covered in print, online, and the news. Fingers pointed everywhere. But the media and the left insisted the blame rested at the top, with Pres. Bush. The leftwing pundits couldn’t utter the words, “Abu Ghraib,” without including the name, “Pres. Bush.” …

Obama’s Stealth Globull Warming Adaption Executive Order
31 Mar 2011
8:42 am
William Teach
As the Republican led House, and many Republicans, and some Democrats, in the Senate look to keep the EPA from regulating greenhouse gases, Mr. Obama has quietly implemented his own rules
On March 4th, in a move surely designed to side-step Congress, Obama’s Council on Environmental Quality issued instructions to all federal agencies on how to adapt to climate change. All agencies, from the Food and Drug Administration to the Department of Defense, will be required to analyze their vulnerabilities to the impacts from climate change …

Say, About That Afghanistan Surge Troop Withdrawl…..
31 Mar 2011
7:47 am
William Teach
Remember when Mr. Obama said that his surge of troops for the war that was not a “stupid war” would end by July 2011? Yeah, how’s that working out?
Military leaders and President Obama’s civilian advisers are girding for battle over the size and pace of the planned pullout of U.S. troops from Afghanistan this summer, with the military seeking to limit a reduction in combat forces and the White House pressing for a withdrawal substantial enough to placate a war-weary electorate.
Gen. David H. Petraeus, the top allied commander in Afghanistan, …

31 Mar 2011
4:26 am
John Hawkins
Question: What do you think of “Anonymous” and their recent DNS attack on the WBC? GHFs.org has been down for more than a month. — D-Vega
Answer: Hacking and shutting down websites is not a joke; it’s a serious crime. The CIA and the FBI need to take a serious interest in “Anonymous” and they need to find ways to put as many of them as possible, in jail for as long as possible.

Q&A Thursday #105: Why Are You Conservatives So Against What Obama’s Doing In Libya?
31 Mar 2011
4:14 am
John Hawkins
Question: Why are you (and you fellow contributors) so afraid that the potential regime change in Libya will put a magnifying glass on how poorly executed the invasion of Iraq? How the Bush Administration wasted human, financial and political capital going it alone. Are you really anti-democracy? Pro Gaddafi? or worse yet just a Republican pom pom cheerleader that doesnt want success unless its under the GOP label? Sad. — n0nesuch
Answer: Getting rid of Saddam Hussein may have cost a great deal of blood and treasure, but at least it …

Q&A Thursday #105: Why Are Groups Like The Elks, Rotarians, Freemasons, And Kiwanis Dying Out?
31 Mar 2011
3:45 am
John Hawkins
Question: What are your thoughts on civic fraternal organizations such as the Elks, Rotarians, Freemasons, Kiwanis, etc…? These organizations have long been an important source of charity and community, but go to any of their meetings today and you will notice a lot of old gray haired men and distinct shortage of young people. Are these simply clubs that have outlived their popularity and usefuleness, or is this another sign of a crumbling and decaying society? — President Friedman
Answer: Maybe I’m more aware of this than most people because I …

Q&A Thursday #105: Why Do People In DC Oppose Auditing The Federal Reserve?
31 Mar 2011
3:00 am
John Hawkins
Question: Why does the Federal Government oppose any independent auditing of the Federal Reserve? — TheDickNixon
Answer: A lot of people do support it. In fact, a bill to audit the Fed has 101 cosponsors in the House already.
I think there are two major interconnected fears about auditing the Fed.
1) The first is that behind the scenes, it may be a complete and utter disaster. If you find bad decisions and shady deals galore, it could hurt the Fed considerably and lead to what many people really fear…
2) Congress taking over …

Q&A Thursday #105: Should We Put Tariffs On China?
31 Mar 2011
2:43 am
John Hawkins
Question: I would like to hear your thoughts on Tariffs, why not use our trade deficit to attack our fiscal one? I’ve heard Michael Savage advocate a 20% tariff on China until they revalue their currency(which seems extremely excessive) but it did get me thinking that if could address both our outsourcing and deficit problem… — DaytripPro
Answer: I am less opposed to tariffs than most free traders. In fact, I’d like to see us use them more — but with a specific purpose. I’d like to see us use tariffs …

Q&A Thursday #105: Moderators?
31 Mar 2011
1:56 am
John Hawkins
Question: Is there any chance that you would appoint some of your fellow contributors, or perhaps select posters, to monitor the threads and address flagged comments? Having the ‘flag’ option is kind of pointless unless someone actually removes the posts. — Good_Ol_Boy
Answer: My designers put in a new copy of Disqus and although people could flag posts, they weren’t automatically taken off the page when they hit a certain number of flags. That has been fixed. If a post gets flagged enough, it’ll disappear now.
As to moderators, I’m not necessarily …

Why Veena Malik’s Smackdown of an Egyptian Mullah was a Seminal Moment for Feminism
30 Mar 2011
3:39 pm
Susannah Fleetwood
Two days ago, Allahpundit picked up the story of gorgeous Pakistani actress, Veena Malik, courageously going off on an Egyptian Mullah who accused her of “immorality” because he didn’t approve of her appearance, or the fact that that she appeared on an Indian equivalent of the television show Big Brother. Jonah Goldberg was the first major blogger to report on this story, and it has been all over the right-wing blogosphere ever since. So, what makes this a possible seminal moment for feminism instead of just another viral …

Moonbat Tech: Bamboo Bicycles
30 Mar 2011
3:06 pm
Dave Blount
Possibly because it grows so fast or because it’s associated with the exotic Orient, moonbats have decided that bamboo is “sustainable.” Even bamboo flooring, slathered in all manner of unpronounceable chemicals to keep it from splintering, is marketed as “green.” Bicycles are green too, not only because they represent pre-fossil fuel technology but because they symbolize the poverty implicit in communism, serving as the primary mode of transport in socialist hellholes like Cuba. Put bamboo and bicycles together, and you can impress even the Moonbat Messiah:
NEW YORK — President Barack …

Green as a Thistle, Nutty as a Fruitcake

Dave Blount
If only the religion known as Environmentalism had a heaven, the impressively devout Vanessa of Green as a Thistle would qualify for entry if she really lives up to even half of her list of 366 green changes. Among her most preposterous techniques for saving the planet:
4. Switching to a recyclable toothbrush
17. Switching to recycled toilet paper
35. Switching to Eco-Dent floss
36. Only drinking fair-trade, organic, locally roasted coffee
42. Not buying any more petroleum-based bath poufs and loufas
47. No more using paper towels or hand-dryers in public bathrooms
48. Investing in …

Obama Lackeys Running GM Now Want US to Pay Out for Rebates
30 Mar 2011
11:22 am
Warner Todd Huston
A few days ago I wrote about how the Obama administration has stuffed the upper echelons of management at General Motors with government lackeys who have no experience in the auto industry and how Obama’s government will lead GM to ultimate failure. Today, as Van Helsing mentioned, we see yet one more step toward GMs ruin with government plans for subsidies that the taxpayers will end up paying for.
The Washington Times’ Kerry Picket reports that some Democrats and the geniuses Obama put at the top of GM, much derided as …

A Nationwide Movement To Eliminate Voter Fraud Is Born

Warner Todd Huston
This past weekend the first national True The Vote Summit was conducted by the folks that successfully rooted out vote fraud in Harris County, Texas during the 2010 elections. Folks from 27 different states were in attendance to learn how the Harris County effort was conducted in hopes of replicating the same back home, but with the hard lessons already learned.
On Saturday those in attendance heard from True The Vote’s wizened members and learned what the best practices were to “true” the voting process in their own areas. Along with …

Live Action: Planned Parenthood Mammogram Lies Exposed
30 Mar 2011
11:19 am
Lori Ziganto
The left has been frantically pushing the spin regarding Planned Parenthood and the recent move, via the Pence Amendment, to stop providing them with federal funding (from we, the taxpayers). Screeching things like “If you defund Planned Parenthood, women will die! They won’t be able to get mammograms. Why do you hate women and their girl bits?”
As many of us know, Planned Parenthood does not, nor have they ever, provided mammograms. That has not stopped them from outright lying about this in an attempt to scare people into giving them money:
“Most prominently, …

Wisconsin Stops Removing Union Dues From Employees Checks
30 Mar 2011

Warner Todd Huston
Pursuant to Governor Scott Walker’s new rules, as of Monday the State of Wisconsin is no longer taking union dues out of the paychecks of government workers. The state is also charging more for these employee’s healthcare and pensions.
Even though there is still a question open of a compromised judge’s ruling to set aside the new law, the state is surging forward and implementing it anyway. Because of the legal confusion, some cities are not implementing the law.
The cessation of the state removing union dues will be a great blow …
